Lucro vs Capsule
Capsule is a good, simple CRM. It’s British too, built by a team in Manchester, and plenty of small firms use it happily. So if you’re looking at both, you’re already looking in the right place.
The honest difference is who each one is really for. Capsule suits small sales teams that want a tidy contact list with pipelines, projects and lots of integrations bolted on. Lucro is built for businesses of one to five people who just want their customers, emails and follow-ups in one place, at a lower price per head.

Take a team of three, paying annually. On Lucro Essential that’s £24 a month. On Capsule Starter it’s £42. Step up a level and it’s Lucro Standard at £48 against Capsule Growth at £81. At that level the gap is nearly £400 a year.
To be fair to Capsule, its plans hold more contacts. Starter allows 30,000, where Lucro Essential allows 5,000. For most firms our size, 5,000 is plenty, but if you’ve got a huge list it’s worth knowing.
This one goes Capsule’s way, and there’s no point pretending otherwise. Capsule’s free plan gives you two users and 250 contacts. Ours gives you one user and 100 companies and contacts, plus the AI assistant for social posts and marketing copy from day one.
If you’re a sole trader testing the water, either works. If there are two of you and you never want to pay, Capsule’s free plan goes further.
Both are easy to pick up compared with the big names. Capsule leans towards sales teams, with pipelines and project boards to set up as you grow. Lucro starts with the customer record. Add a customer, log a call, set a reminder, send a template email. That’s most of the job.

Not at the moment. Lucro connects directly to QuickBooks Online on the Standard plan. If Xero is your accounts software, Capsule’s Xero link may suit you better.
